Our story

From the slopes of Mt. Elgon to a cup in Kampala.

Nzonzi Coffee was founded on a simple bet: that you could build a real distribution business in Uganda where every bag tells the truth about where it came from. We don't blend our origins. We don't hide our supply chain. Every step is logged, timestamped, and visible to the customer who scans the QR on the pouch.

Single origin, by region
Bugisu (Mt. Elgon), Rwenzori, West Nile. We never blend across regions.
Roasted in Kampala
Small, fresh batches with cup notes recorded against the batch.
Same-day delivery
A fleet of 10 tracked bikes covers Kampala, restocking shops and cafés daily.

Why traceability matters

Most coffee that leaves Uganda gets blended into anonymity. We thought our customers — and our farmers — deserve better. So we built the operations stack ourselves: an agent app at every collection store, a tracked bike fleet in Kampala, a roastery batch ledger, and a public page per batch.

Built with farmers, not on top of them

Public traceability is opt-in. Farmer or co-op names are only shown when they've explicitly consented. We anonymize otherwise — the journey is still visible, but the names are not.
